While watching the iMovie tutorials, I learned how to get started and how to stabilize shaky videos.. To get started, all you have to do is plug in your camera. iMovie will automatically notice it and pull up the videos on it. Then you can choose to transfer all of them into iMovie or do it manually and just pick some that you want.
To stabilize your shaky video, first select analyze for stabilization in the file menu. You can choose to analyze the whole video or just one clip.

Walking Gallery Blog Post
I saw a lot of themes today, but none were better then Jake's.
My favorite edit had to be Brandon's change a face.
I liked a lot of sound mixes, but none were better then Jake's. He used smile back as his instrumental as well as verses from Drake and other artists. They mixed together very well.
We learned how to edit photos, which i find very cool because I like to make sweet pictures. Also it was really cool being able to set different beats to verses. We learned what we were supposed to. Before this class I had never done any of the stuff before. I could have probably figured it out after a little while of messing around with it just because I'm a kid, but it would have frustrated me.
Some skills I have now that will help me in the future would be the photo editing skill, because I like taking photos and can edit them to make them very cool.

News Podcast
Over the past two days we had to create a news podcast. We had to choose an article we found on line, mixed with an intro song and outro song. I chose an article about how ISU beat #2 OSU in a football game this past Friday in Ames. It was a very exciting moment for all of Iowa, so I thought it would be a great selection.
The quality of my project is pretty good, we only had 2 periods to do it so I had to rush a little, but for the most part I thought it was pretty good. I think it should not be on the air because I did not have a lot of time to do it and was rushed. If I had more time, then yes. This is a process that was sort of enjoyable for me. It would not really bother me to do it again, but I wouldn't go out and do it on my own for fun.

Sound Intro and Hearing Loss
Sound travels in waves. Other ways to measure sound include frequency and amplitude. One more thing I learned from the video is that architects design buildings so that the sound wont bounce off sound and everything will sound perfect.
The today show video we watched was about adults and hearing loss. This man had bad hearing loss but was scared to wear hearing aids because he would get judged. The video made me think about how loud I listen to music, because especially in my car I turn up my music really loud and I probably should stop.

Photoshop skills
In Photoshop, we used many different tools to edit our photos. One tool that I thought was really cool was the neon glow tool. All you have to do is select a picture, desaturate it, and click the neon glow tool. Then you can pick a color you want to choose.
neon glowAnother tool I liked a lot, was the spot tool. You can pick any color you want to use, and make it the only color that shows up. All you have to do is change the picture to desaturate, add a layer, go to paintbrush and select a color you want. Then just paint over where the color is that you want highlighted.

Slide Show
This is a video of my photos I edited using iPhoto!
On sharing photos, an important thing I learned was definitely that you have to give credit to who ever took the picture. Also you cannot take more than 5 photos from one site. Using iPhoto, to create a slide show, all you need to do is hit the "Slide Show" button and you can edit the settings as well.

Hi, Welcome to Matt Hoeg's blog for Multimedia. In our first unit we are learning about how to organize and edit photos using iPhoto.
When you open up iPhoto, there is a "Click To Play" button that gives you a short tutorial on how to use the program. In iPhoto, if you don't already have a photo library, you need to create one and then you can start importing photos into iPhoto.
